Nir Naaman started playing the saxophone at age 10, and has distinguished himself as a performer, composer and music educator. A multi-award winning saxophonist and composer, Nir holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the New England Conservatory (2017). Nir has appeared in jazz festivals, clubs, TV shows and recording sessions. Performed professionally with artists such as George Cables, Eddie Marshall,  Terri-Lyne Carrington, Paquito D'Rivera, Oscar Stagnaro, Steve Gadd, Abraham Laborial and John Riley. Toured in the United States, Europe, Israel and Japan. Nir resides in Brooklyn. He is involved in many musical projects and leads his own jazz quartet. His debut CD, Independence (2014), produced by George Cables, was hailed by Jazziz magazine as a “Rare Gem”.

Nir is a sought after educator and serves as the director of a music program in a public school in New York City. Nir has taught workshops to students at Berklee College of Music, Ithaca College, Purchase College, University of Colorado Denver and Boston College. Nir continues to help learners find their voices in music.
